Presidents'
Message September 2012
Dear Baylis Families,
Welcome back to school!
We are excited to begin another great year at Baylis. We have a lot of events planned for this
Fall, including Arts in Ed programming, our Newcomer's Reception and first PTA meeting,
Back to School Social, PARP Week, Fall Party and Ladies Night Out.
The PTA has been hard at work planning for the 2012-2013
school year. The Executive Committee met
regularly over the summer to plan events and discuss how we can continue to
enrich and educate the students, faculty and staff at Baylis. Everyone generously volunteered their time
and worked tirelessly to ensure that our PTA unit continues to thrive. It takes a tremendous amount of effort and
dedication and our 2012-2013 Executive Committee should be recognized for all
of their hard work. Thank you to Lauren
Goff, First Vice-President; Jenny Wong, Second Vice-President;
Alicia Leva, Third Vice-President; Roselee Root, Forth Vice
President; Alyssa Blick, Treasurer; Jaime Shenkman, Corresponding Secretary;
and Rachal Kelly, Recording Secretary.
Our Unit's success depends on many individuals and we want
to thank all the Council Delegates, Committee Chairs, Associate Chairs and
Committee Volunteers who are also generously volunteering their time in helping
to make a difference. Many attended our
annual Committee Chair Get Together over the summer. The PTA is always looking for volunteers who
are willing to enhance what we already have and continuously build upon our
unit's achievements from the previous year.
We look to find ways to incorporate new, innovative ideas from every
volunteer, teacher and child. Thank you
to those who volunteer and give your time unconditionally.
The Baylis PTA website is our most valuable tool to
communicate with you. It is newly
updated for 2012-2013. Browse www.baylispta.org regularly, as information
is constantly being added and updated.
We also send weekly email reminders, so please remember to check your
email so that you are apprised of all deadlines and pertinent information. We continue to use the website and email as
an ongoing PTA effort to go green.
We would love for you to come to our monthly PTA
meetings. It's a great way to learn what
the committee chairs are planning and educate yourselves on what is happening
throughout the school and community. You
will gain a better perspective of what the PTA is all about.
Finally, on behalf of the PTA, we are delighted to work with
our school Principal, Mrs. Lisa Greiner.
Mrs. Greiner is truly an advocate for our children and very
understanding and attentive to their needs.
She is an avid supporter of the Baylis PTA and a partner with us all the
way. We are so fortunate to have her.
Stay tuned for another fun and exciting school year at Baylis!
